- What are Chronicles again?
Chronicles are literally just little role-play scenarios set up as sub-boards within a broader category. They're basically mini-rp forums that you create and run just like you would a full sized forum.
- Wait... Run?
Yes run. Whomever is designated the Storyteller will be in charge of the Chronicle and the behavior of people playing within it. But do not worry about it too much. Forum staff will overshadow your actions and you are honestly free to run your Chronicle however the heck you want. So the role of Storyteller is only as serious as you make it.
- So how do I start a Chronicle?
Simply go into the Chronicle Creation board and fill out the form therein. Post it in a separate thread and a staff member will create your Chronicle board for you and make you a Storyteller.
- That's it?
Pretty much. You'll have to probably create a thread within your Chronicle board itself where people can post their character bios and such. But this is not required if your Chronicle does not require character bios.
- A character bio thread?
Yes. It's a thread where other members participating in your chronicle will post their character's biography. You can provide a form for them to use if you'd like but you don't have to. But it's a nice thread and is good for keeping track of who plays who and what characters look like/act like what and so on.
- What about a thread that states the plot or species or something like that?
Sure. All of this is optional mind you, some chronicle scenarios have very generic or unimportant settings but it might be useful to members if you explain what's going on in your chronicle, where it is happening and so on.
- How do I rp in my Chronicle?
Just make a post about something plot related and wait for people to get interested/involved. Just like you would if you just opened a role-play forum. Just... role-play! Do whatever!
- Can I ask people to join my Chronicle?
Sure. Just be respectful and don't pm... you know, everyone on the forum. Be casual and not annoying about it. You may also post a link to your chronicle in your profile or in your signature if you'd like.
- No one is joining my Chronicle!
Well, your Chronicle plot may be too specific or it may be about something no one is interested in role-playing. Don't get discouraged if no one joins your Chronicle. Simply role-play in others for a while until you find people interested. You may also advertise for this forum on other websites in order to get more members to join. The more members there are here, the more people have the potential to join your Chronicle and rp with you. ;3
- How do I delete a Chronicle I don't want anymore?
Just tell a forum staff member via pm and they will take care of it for you.
- Why do I have to write rules for my Chronicle?
Actually, you don't. However, you should if you don't want members of your Chronicle doing certain things. Remember that a member of a Chronicle cannot be punished for breaking a rule that they did not know about. So you cannot kick people out of your Chronicle for doing something that you did not say was not allowed. So writing rules for your chronicle is important.
- Can I enforce those rules as a Storyteller?
Yes. As Storyteller, you are admin of your Chronicle. So members of your Chronicle have to listen to you or they can be "expelled" (banned) from the Chronicle.
- Can I ban people from other Chronicles?
No. You only have control of your chronicle.
- How do I ban people from my Chronicle?
Just pm a forum staff member and they will take of it. Be sure to provide them with a reason as to why you are banning said person from your Chronicle. If the staff member does not feel the reason is substantial or warrants banishment, then they will not do it. So you do have to plead your case a little bit.
