Out of Character Conduct
- Treat all others on this forum the way you wish to be treated. No one here is more or less important than you are, so respect all members, staff and even guests as such.
- Do not insult, harass, or otherwise pick or even participate in fights out of character. You don't have to get along with everyone, and it is more likely than not that you won't. However, that does not mean you can go off on a tirade about how 'stupid', 'immature' or otherwise negative someone is. If you do not like someone, avoid or otherwise ignore them.
- If you are having problems with another member harassing or disrespecting you, alert staff immediately, even if the offender is a staff member. We exist to keep the peace. So if someone is hindering your ability to have fun, let us know and we will take care of it.
- Do not take matters of administration into your own hands. While we staff members are very busy and usually approve of member help with newcomers, if something serious is going on that needs settling, please avoid getting involved, especially if it involves very emotional or personal matters. The staff here are seasoned in matters of emotional distress and we can handle such situations efficiently. You, however, might only make things worse. So try not to get involved or take sides or anything of that nature.
- If you see someone doing something you know to be against House (Forum) Rules, please alert a staff member immediately. Staff members can get awfully busy awfully fast. Do not assume we will catch it on our own, we have too much on our plates to be perusing the entire forum searching for problems. If you see something that needs addressing, let us known immediately and you will often be handsomely rewarded for your service to the community.
- Please respect and be patient with staff. Some things, such as chronicle creation, require the time and attention of a staff member, time and attention the staff may or may not have. Please avoid bugging staff to do something for you. Simply assume that they are busy and choose patience over harassment. If your request goes untouched for more than 24 hours, feel free to politely remind a staff member you are waiting. It is possible that they simply missed it. However, do not badger them with messages every time they are online.
- House Rules apply to all areas and all aspects of this role-play forum. So be sure to follow them at all times, both inside your personal chronicle and out, both In Character and Out.
- If something is confusing you or you feel you need the assistance of a staff member, please avoid pm's. By pming a staff member, you are directing your question at only one person, one person who may be very busy with other things. To guarantee you get an answer fast, please post questions in the Questions board in the Real Life section of the forum. You may be helping other members who might have the same problem or question, as well as helping staff members by saving them the trouble of responding to twenty pm's, all with the same general question.
- This forum is rated PG-13 and above. Meaning you are allowed to cuss, both In Character and Out. However, due to the fact that some people may not approve of such behavior, we ask that you limit yourself in Out of Character conversations. For the sake of other members of the forum, try to remain fairly civilized, if you could.
- You are not permitted to post or share pornographic, prejudice, discriminatory or otherwise offensive imagery anywhere publicly on this forum. This includes, but is not limited to: posting such images in avatars or signatures, using them in banners or other graphics, or drawing/painting/writing about such things and then posting them in the art board. If you would like to exercise your interest in such themes, keep it to pm's, and always ask before sharing with someone. Not everyone wants to see such things in their inbox.
- Similarly, you are not permitted to use stolen artwork from any source. This includes, but is not limited to: Deviantart, SheezyArt, FurAffinity, Photobucket, Google Images, Yahoo Images, and so on. These websites are not shopping malls of images and do not exist for you to mooch off of. This is a text Role-play, meaning you should be able to describe your characters with words and should not need visual imagery. However, should you really desire some pictures to go with your characters, stick to using screen captures from anime or cartoon shows, trading card images, calenders, posters, and other such merchandise. Or, if you'd rather, you may commission artists here on the forum (or on an art website like Deviantart) to draw your character for you. Deviantart also has loads of editable lineart and templates you may also use for your characters (particularly if your characters are animals). Feel free to use any of these staples when creating images of your characters. You really have no reason to steal the artwork of others.
- Signatures are to be no wider than 550 pixels wide. Any wider, and the page will become stretched and unattractive on certain computer screens. 500 pixels wide by 250 pixels high is a pretty good size for signature images.
- Avatars are to be no wider than 100 pixels. However, they can be taller than 100 pixels. 150 at the most.
